1 | 796 ml can Pastene San Marzano D.O.P. Tomatoes | |
¼ cup | fresh basil, chopped | |
1 tsp | dried oregano |

- On low heat in a medium pan, cook onions in the oil for 8 minutes to draw out their natural sweetness. Add garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook another 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and break up with a spoon. Add basil and oregano, stirring gently until evenly mixed. Let cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- The tomatoes will breakdown as they cook and result in a thicker, chunkier sauce. If you prefer a smooth sauce, use a hand-puree tool or power blender for desired consistency.
- Serve over your favorite pasta.
